Evangelical - We call ourselves "evangelical" because the word simply means 'good news.' And we want to share it. Bible - We believe that the Bible is the written and inspired word of God in its entirety. It is the final written authority on all matters of faith and conduct. Despite what people say it is not 'full of errors', nor has it been 'corrupted in transmission' over the years. It is primarily a book whose hero is God and is therefore about faith and the human reaction to God's intervention in history. We believe the leading of the Holy Spirit does not go against the letter or the spirit of the written word in dealing with modern life. Baptism - We believe in "Believer's Baptism." By this we mean that when a person becomes a believer in Jesus Christ - a Christian - they will want to demonstrate their faith and commitment to Him in the way He Himself showed His own submission to the will of God. We believe true baptism is by immersion, as taught in the Bible. It does not make a person a Christian - he or she already is a Christian. But it shows their allegiance to Him and obedience to His word. Communion - We believe that it is a great privilege to take part in the "Lord's Supper" or Communion service - the special time of remembrance that Jesus Himself commanded that His followers observe. If you are visiting and are in membership with another church we shall be delighted for you to share in this privilege with us. We also open our table to all who believe in Christ as their personal rescuer and leader and who hold a good conscience towards God and others. | |||||||||||
