Births, Marriages and Deaths

Births

First, congratulations to you if you have had a child in recent months. It's a great event and there's something in each one of us that wants to mark it out as significant. We would like to help you celebrate the birth and give you an opportunity to give thanks, present your child to God, and make promises before God about how you will bring up your child. We would also like to pray for you and bless your child, and for this we can either do a special service for family and friends or include this in our Sunday morning service. This service needs to be arranged with the Pastor who will tailor the service according to your desires and beliefs. This may take about two hours to discuss.

We do not baptise or 'christen' children. We believe that only those who are committed to Christ personally should be baptised (this is known as the 'baptism of believers' - from which we get our name as a Baptist church).

Marriages

If you are seeking to get married then we wish you well - you are desiring a good thing. If you would like to be married at Histon Baptist Church then the Pastor will arrange a private course designed to help you make the most of your special day, get the most out of your marriage and avoid some of the common pitfalls of married life. We do not disbar divorcees from re-marriage in our church.

Deaths

If you have been bereaved in recent days please accept our condolences. If you would like a thanksgiving or funeral service at the church or if you would like the pastor to arrange a cremation service please speak to your funeral director who will make all the arrangements with the church. If you would like someone from the church to visit you and pray with you please contact the Pastor.
